The subtleness called Spring

The very nature of the human mind is to observe and enhance. It takes a lot of distraction to practice otherwise. We are continuously feeding distraction to our minds. A lot of beautiful things that we miss out on as we are constantly plunged into our devices deceiving the reality to make you believe there exists a better reality than present. As a generation which has seen both the life with and without gadgets, I emphasize that the life lived without gadgets seems to be more close to me as I was being natural in that state. Surely anyone who didn't spend their time watching YouTube would know that evenings spent playing hide and seek with your friends or siblings were beautiful.

Most of the homes have limited watch of television, it was only at specific times that you could access to see the television and that too made us spend more time in the courtyard playing games, sometimes the existing one and sometimes we created our games. Well as we grew further the technology took better of us. I still remember as a child, if I did anything wrong it was my brother who got beatings and scolding before me as he was supposed to be the responsible one taking care of me. The ideas like care, protection, limitations were last experienced by our generation. Back then when the idea called malls didn't exist, apparel shopping were the only outings and eating outside was as weird as how eating inside now is!

well surely this isn't about our pasts, what I want to say is the art of observation was natural to us, the flowers blooming, the butterflies flying around were seen with much awe as we did not have our phones to capture their glimpse, it was only at that moment that we lived the whole experience, well it was lived so well that even now I can recall it with precise detail. It took a lot of technology to distract us from the natural us and to make us enslaved to a social media reality( Social reality, as I would like to call it) which only exists in our brains. Words like care and protection started losing their meaning. The meaning of love slowly entangled itself to precious gifts and then we lost being the true form of ourselves and started living to please everyone.

Today I wanted to remind myself of that natural me and hence I ventured out with the pure state of no distraction(I mean without phone) to enjoy the subtleness of Spring and to live it like a child. I must say I was never so excited to see the blooming flower, butterfly carefully pulling the nectar out of the flower as if a thief stealing one's fragrance without making them aware of it. The tiny drop of water on the leaf after the rain had just left and unwilling to touch the ground and the plants singing the song of ecstasy. All these made me wonder do we really need technology to stay connected or is it acting otherwise? Surely I am not underestimating the power of the technology to connect with the bigger world but has it made us forget the smaller world around us where we live everyday. surely I am not saying talking on a video call with someone whom we love has made us connect less with people around us but do we have the time and patience to see the bird making its way catching a small worm so that she could feed her younger ones, have we as humans disconnected ourselves from nature and see ourselves to be a greater self than the nature. I am not complaining about these but I am saying while giving the technology it's advantage can we still be connected to the subtle things that happen around us everyday or have we closed our eyes towards them? After this small venture I walked into a realization, I came back only to realize how easy it is for us as humans to have access to everything that we need and still be complaining about the things that we don't. When I saw the tiny bird carrying a worm for her younger ones I relived care and protection. when I saw the tiny ants carrying a much bigger insect, I saw unity and the strength that it offers, interdependence and selflessness characterized every step that they walked further. So as we humans, why are we scared of seeking help when we are unable to do it alone. Why do we want to suffer in silence? Why can't we accept our life and why can't we accept death as a natural expression of time, Why do we see it as an act of separation and curse from the greater glory?

while I am extremely grateful to technology as that is the only way that I am able to convey you all this but I would also request you to not let that technology take over you and the natural curiosity, creativity and observation within you.

After this experiment I became more prone to observations and started living as a part of nature, whenever I could I practiced putting food to the tiny birds, may it be as small as biscuit pieces or the remaining of those biscuits being eaten away by the ants. Even feeding one life other than you can land you in satisfaction, you just made the day of that bird and ants easier and I am sure they would be grateful to you when they see that biscuit pieces regularly and naturally this act will make you feel more as a part of nature than the bigger self of you!

Now everyday I see them in my balcony, they chirp to let me know their presence and once they are fed, they fly back with the promise of coming back tomorrow.

Meanwhile when I do walk around with my phone I make sure to catch a few glimpse of the spring and nature in general. Here are a few of them.

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much I did creating this. Please feel free to reach out to me on social media and we can talk about anything and everything. Please feel free to share it to your family and friends so that they can also relive these moments.
